Covered California Isn’t Going Anywhere in 2017

Enroll or Renew Your Coverage Today!

The future is always uncertain, but one thing you should not be worried about is whether or not health care coverage will be available through Covered California in 2017. In a recent LA Times article, Covered California Executive Director Peter Lee said that under no circumstances should people not enroll or renew their coverage despite the presidential election results.

In fact, on November 13, AltaMed had the pleasure of hosting Peter Lee’s Covered California’s press conference at our Commerce site where he shared,

“To me, it really is like talking about the theoretical possibility that a comet will hit Earth tomorrow,” he said of the chance that the Affordable Care Act will be repealed.

“Big change does not happen overnight, but what does happen overnight is people can get hit by a car, people can get cancer,” he continued.

Here at AltaMed we couldn’t agree more, which is why we are committed to provide our community with access to resources and information through our Health Insurance Resource Centers and informational hotline.

For the past three years we’ve been the number one Covered California enroller in the state, and we don’t plan on that changing and will continue to strive for that goal

Enrollment began on November 1st and will continue through January 31, 2017. This year, there are new ways to shop for coverage and save, and three of Covered California’s 11 health plans have expanded their coverage areas meaning you may qualify for a more affordable plan.

To help walk you through the process and answer any questions or concerns you may have, AltaMed has two dedicated Health Insurance Resource Centers in East LA and Santa Ana, staffed with multi-lingual certified enrollment experts. Call 1-888-363-1293 to schedule your day, evening or weekend one-on-one assistance appointment to enroll, renew, or find out more information on Covered CA.

Renew your plan by December 15th to ensure that you’re covered by January, 1, 2017. The final deadline to enroll or renew is January 31st. If you’re unsure of whether or not you need to take action, contact one of our counselors first, as doing nothing could result in loss of coverage or an increase in your monthly premium.
