Carlos E. Adame serves as Vice President of Human Resources at AltaMed, one of the fastest growing health care organizations in the nation. Adame is responsible for total rewards – compensation, benefits, and leave administration. He also oversees talent acquisition, training and development, workers' compensation, leadership development and other human resource-related tasks in this rapidly growing, diverse, multi-cultural and multi-generational organization.
Mr. Adame brings over 20 years of human resources leadership experience to AltaMed, seven of which were spent in the health care field. Prior to his tenure at AltaMed, he served as the Regional Vice President of Human Resources at UnitedHealthcare (UHC), an $8 billion segment of the largest health care company in the world. During his tenure at UHC, Adame led numerous strategic initiatives, including a complete transformation of an organizational structure leading to record business performance while simultaneously maintaining high employee engagement scores. He also implemented a more rigorous talent development process and discipline which ensured a continuous leadership pipeline.
Adame earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration, with an emphasis in Corporate Finance, from California State University at Fullerton, and a Master of Business Administration from the University of California, Irvine.
Mr. Adame is married to Vicki, and they have two daughters, Julia and Lea, as well as a dog named Daisy. He is very active physically – he enjoys playing basketball, running, lifting weights and practicing yoga. He loves to travel with my family. They have travelled to Europe, Asia, Latin America and throughout the US. Mr. Adame also serves as Commissioner on the Los Angeles County Workforce Development Board.
